Central NJ.  Global pharma company is seeking a regulatory attorney to focus on a host of areas relating to clinical trials. Person will advise senior management and Board members about new regulatory changes, advise business units on relevant regulations and work closely with scientists.

Central CT or Central NJ: Our client is a premier financial company seeking a lawyer experienced with ERISA to join its legal team.   This company provides investment products and services to defined contribution and defined benefit plans, as well as to plan sponsors and institutions. For example, one part of the business unit distributes internal and external mutual funds and creates and distributes other products to the retirement plans. Some of the products include: separate account investment products, rollover products, and guaranteed minimum withdrawal products.   Another part of the business unit sells GIC related products to institutional investors.  These divisions have over $170 billon of retirement assets and/or reserves under management or administration.   
 
This person will work closely with senior management and business counterparts on a variety of issues involving the manufacturing, distribution and servicing of insurance products in the pension marketplace, as well as products involving mutual funds.  Working within a dynamic business setting, this person will work on a host of projects, including those involving variable annuity products,  building mutual fund investment platforms,  GIC agreements, investment advisory agreements, M&A  matters, and government relations matters  (i.e., reviewing and advising on relevant legislation and commenting on proposed legislation).   
 
This person will work on existing products and will also counsel business group on new product development. This person will be encouraged to become involved in industry trade groups and to be a visible representative in the industry.  
 
Requirements: This attorney should have 15 or more years of legal experience, with significant experience in the areas of ERISA coupled with one of the following: insurance, mutual funds or broker dealer regulation.  A strong understanding of the securities laws as they relate to retirement products is important; some broker-dealer regulatory experience is a plus.    Ultimately, this attorney should be open to expanding her/his practice area as needs arise.   To apply, email Karen Anderson at Kanderson@vintagelegal.com.

Southern CT.  Our client seeks an attorney experienced with variable annuities products to join their legal team.  Serving as a partner with the business team, this attorney will provide counsel on a host of issues relating to annuities products- such as monitoring new laws and regulatory activity, responding to insurance and securities regulatory inquiries; representing the company before federal and state regulators and SROs in connection with regulatory matters relating to insurance, securities and annuity sales and products; supporting all aspects of product distribution, including those involving broker-dealers, banks and agencies; drafting and negotiating agreements and reviewing corporate communications. This attorney will counsel on issues involving: FINRA Rules, 1934 and 1933 Acts, 1940 Act, Advisers Act and applicable state laws.
 
Requirements: At least 7 years of relevant experience.  This attorney should be well versed in the following areas:  1933 and 1934 Acts, FINRA Rules and insurance laws governing variable products, broker-dealer and investment advisory products and financial planning. This attorney should feel comfortable working closely with senior management and business counterparts, as well as with regulators. This is a high profile position within the group with tremendous opportunity for growth. Compensation will be highly competitive with much opportunity for growth.
