Central NJ/Counsel. Fortune 500 corporation seeks to add a seasoned employee benefits, ERISA and compensation counsel with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience for highly visible and significant position, including interaction with the CEO and senior management. This attorney will provide legal advice on the documentation, disclosure, and administration of a defined benefit pension plan (which includes a cash balance feature), 401(k) plan, health and welfare benefit plans, excess benefit plans, compensation plans, and other such programs maintained by the company. The attorney will be the primary resource for legal advice on the company’s benefits and compensation-related issues (including executive compensation) and will be responsible for the preparation and/or review of plan documents, summary plan descriptions, employee communications, CD&A section of the proxy, board resolutions, trust agreements, and contracts. The attorney will also provide advice on HIPAA, 409A, COBRA, and ERISA compliance. Prior experience with FLSA and EPA is desirable, but not required. The attorney will also advise the company’s plan administrative and retirement investment committees and attend related meetings. Candidates must have at least 6 years of deep and broad employee benefits and executive compensation experience related to the duties described above.
